NEWBURYPORT — The Newburyport Conservation Commission approved a notice of intent for 95 Parker Street, letting a Vulcan Forms-affiliated tenant rebuild a failing loading dock and add an argon gas storage pad within a wetlands buffer. The 6-0 roll-call votes closed the hearing and issued a standard order of conditions, with Chair Joe Teixeira and members Dan Warchol, Janet Daisley, Julia Godtfredsen, Steve Moore and Reece Ciampitti voting yes; Barbara Riley was absent. Town planning staff said a fire department consultation found no new safety concerns, calling argon "relatively stable." Two other hearings, for applicants Kerry Fowler and Sharon Scott, were continued to August 18.
Godtfredsen said the commission already has sea-level-rise rules covering a proposed applicant "checklist," unlike some other city boards. Staff flagged an August 12 City Council vote on transferring conservation land, including an Interstate 95 corridor parcel.
